Hurran Update 6 - RIDERS READ THIS

We are at serious risk of losing this fantastic venue for our annual Hurran Trophy Trial. This is a very sensitive area, declared as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) by Natural England (they allow us a licence) and the woods are managed by The National Trust.

If we, that is Organisers and you the riders, put one foot (or Trials tyre) out of line then we will not get our Licence from Natural England next year.We have done all we can and it is now up to YOU so please read this notice and comply with all of the following instructions.

1. All machines and clothing should be in a clean condition to prevent contamination and ENVIRONMENTAL MATS used during refuelling, etc. More details on environmental mats

2. When you arrive at the venue park sensibly and tidily as soon as you find an available slot and take up the minimum amount of room as parking will be tight.

3. Vehicles with an observer please proceed down the track to the start area.

4. Proceed to the start area and collect your rider number ready for a 10.30am start.

5. Ride only on the marked course. DO NOT PRACTICE OR RIDE IN ANY OF THE WOODED AREA OTHER THAN MARKED SECTIONS. There are areas of invasive species that must not be spread, and areas with extremely rare plants and trees.

6. Do not ride on the Bridleway that runs through the venue.

7. Be polite to other users of the wood and pass the houses at 5 mph max.

8. There are 3 separate starts (First section) chosen to ensure a direct return to the main track when you have finished the Trial. There is no necessity to sign off.

9. Failure to comply with these instructions may result in Exclusion from this event and future Hurran Trophy Trials

Everything is in place for the Trial to go ahead on 16th January but C of C Tom Welch is holding back opening the entries until our Government has decided on post Christmas covid measures.
