Zona One - End of Year Trial 30th December 2007

Zona One held their End Of Year trial at Nettleton Quarry Birdlip on Sunday the 30th December. Eighty riders supported the event which Steve Workman had laid out.

Four laps of 10 sections in and around the quarry and with three routes available everybody was catered for. Midland Centre rider Shaun Fox took a comfortable win by 20 marks from local man Barry Husband with local young rider Scott Thompson in third place.

Section one took a maximum off Husband the other top ones going clean. Sub 3 was a real tough one best here was Scott Thompson who lost 9 here and Fox dropped 12.

Sub five, a jumble of rocks in the middle of the quarry became more difficult as mud got dragged onto it, Fox and Thompson excelled here again. Fox again excelled on sub seven and sub ten.

The Alternative route saw a selection of good riders, Oxford rider Rob Faulkner came out on top his score of 12 included 2 maximums compared to an array of marks cast away by runner up Tim Wheeler.

Ben Toms was 2 away from Wheeler who took best novice, sections three and seven being the main mark stealers.

The easy route saw a tie for top spot, Eddie Hinckley taking best adult and Craig Talbot best youth. Both on one mark lost. Jim Delahay lost out with 2 dabs on sub 3. This trial concluded a successful year for the club since its reformation.
