Julian Bishop - RIP

Full Tributes to Julian

Sadly ACU Western and the West Glos & Dean Forest MCC lost a key organiser, rider and engineer on December 20. Julian Bishop was a lifelong motorcyclist who competed in roads racing, circuit racing, grasstrack, trials, rally and enduro amongst others on two and three wheels to a high level - often on machines he'd made or modified himself.

Whether he was clerk of the course for the Cotswold Cups National Trial, running the West Glos annual Boxing Day Trial with his family, getting everyone from different disciplines together at an off-road hillclimb, or turning out at the West Glos club nights for a few swift halves before cycling home through the Forest, Jules was always the same. He was the voice of common sense, self-deprecating, generous with his time and engineering skills (thanks for blowing out my expansion pipe again and again Jules), and very dry.

He was held in the highest regard in the club, the centre and the wider world of motorcycle sport. He will be deeply missed. Our thoughts are with his family who inherited a love of two wheeled sport from him.
