CHG MCC ran the annual John Draper trial, a around of the Western centre championship, on Langley Hill high on the slopes above Winchcombe.

A beautiful sunny autumns day greeted the riders for their 3 laps of 14 sections. The recent heavy rain had little effect on the going and the sections proved easier than anticipated with the slippery banks and roots providing reasonable grip.

Concentration was the key to success as scores were low on both expert and clubman routes. The standard of riding was high with great skill on display from the top experts.

Winner Joel Edwards lost just one mark closely followed by Kurt Brain on 3 and Ben Toms on 4. Simon Welsh suffered a late careless 5 which dropped him to 4th place much to his annoyance!

That welcome visitor Rob Faulkner continues to win the clubman route with considerable ease losing only one mark. His closest challenger Nick Toms lost late marks to finish R/UP on 3 On he 50/50 route Nathan Pekala recorded a good result with a determined ride, beating Chris Wickham into 2nd place.
