Cheltenham home guard held an easy trial at Robins quarry Hazleton on 8th July. After all the recent wet weather a bright sunny day greeted the 58 keen competitors.
2 routes of 12 sections were ridden 4 times, with the dry but moving rocks in the quarry penalising the slightest lack of concentration. A good day's sport was had by all, with the sections catering for all abilities. Many low scores were returned with regular riders on both routes soon getting to grips with the conditions. Section 9 had a tricky tight turn at the end, which also had to be ridden by the easy route competitors. Clean rides by the top two in class Mike Jurgens and Jim Delahay were achieved along with Wilf Couldwell displaying his years of experience here.
Young Liam O'Reilly was the only rider to complete the whole day losing no marks. Riding the harder route, and using his trick riding style, he made the sections look easy. Close on his heals was top novice Tom Hinckley on 2 marks lost.
Thanks as always to our loyal observers, and land owners.
