Defibrillator
ACU Western decided a while ago that a Defibrillator would be a useful item to have at our sometimes remote venues to aid with any medical emergency. At most events the yellow plastic carrying bag can be found at the first section (or other named section if more central - listen to the rider's briefing). It is available for anyone to use, not just first aiders and medical teams.
To give Observers, Riders and officials as much confidence as possible to jump into action should a friend, or even yourself, seem to be having a heart attack, we have included an instruction video of a similar device.
As yet, our device has not been needed but a rider and observer have helped out at an incident in the past and others have been on first aid courses.
