Zona One Motorcycle Club
Introduction
Following an absence of many years, Zona One Motorcycle Club has returned to the Western Centre with the kind permission of some of the original members.
Originally established in 1973/4 by Les, Malcolm and Tony Davis, John Pye and Phil Robins, the name Zona One, was cleverly adopted from the Spanish spelling of "Section One." The club went on to successfully organise trials throughout the Centre in the 70's and 80's, until it finally ceased its activities in the early 1990's.
Now, in 2006, the club has been re-affiliated to the Western Centre in the capable hands of Steve Saunders and Rob Workman. Using their wealth of experience, the club will run trials for all classes at a variety of new venues throughout the Centre.
Assisting the above will be Kath, Rob's wife, as secretary, Steve, Rob's son and Dave Stanley who will play a big part in organising events.
Plans are currently underway for a club website, where all the relevant club information will be published. Access to club news, reports, results, membership forms and forthcoming events will be readily available.
The club would like to take this opportunity to welcome new members, and look forward to the support of the loyal enthusiasts which are the backbone of local trials within the Centre. The first trial is due to run on the 4th February 2007, and the regulations will be available on the Centre Events Calendar in due course.
